How To Use Gravity:
Overview
To run the extension, go to any search page on one of our supported sourcing sites and click the logo for the extension on your browser. The panel will then pop up and begin to analyze the products on that page.
The extension will then match the product listings found on the search page to the product listing on Amazon. Once the extension completes the analysis you will be able to see the results with all of the analysis inside of the window. This will save you hours of research.
*There are two main windows inside the extension: 'Products' and 'Buy List'
Products Window
The 'Products' window includes your results after running the extension.
Understanding The Products Window
Column Headers (left to right):
Action: In this column, you will find a green + button. This button is used to add items to your buy list (see below to understand the buy list window). Typically, you would want to click the + button and add the item to your buy list if you are looking to list the item on your Amazon store or simply want to save the item for further review before making a decision to add the item to your store.
Images: Images of the item found at the Source and Amazon. Looking at the images is a quick way to tell if the extension was able to match the product correctly.
Info: (The info section includes links to two places)
1) The first link is the Amazon link. Click this link to open up (in a new window) the Amazon product page for that particular ASIN.
2) The second link is the Source link. Clicking the source link will open up (in a new window) the product page at the source site that you are browsing.
NOTE: Clicking both links will allow you to easily fact check that the item the extension grabbed is in fact identical at both the Source and Amazon and also allow you to perform a deeper analysis of both items. (It is best practice to always check that the items match up before listing the product to your Amazon store)
Source Price:
This column will show you the price of the item at the source.
NOTE: You can set selections to include estimated shipping and tax calculations into your source price by clicking the 3 horizontal bars (hamburger menu) found at the top left of the extension. Once clicked, a dropdown will show up where you can choose whether you would like to add shipping and tax to the source price calculation.
Buy Box:
This column will show the Amazon 'buy box' price for each item on your results list. If there is no buy box for the product then our system will display the words N/A as an indicator that there is no 'buy box' for that particular ASIN.
Lowest:
In this column, you will find the lowest price of the product on Amazon for either FBA, FBM, or both depending on what you have selected.
NOTE: If you do not see FBA and/or FBM lowest price in this column then it is likely that you have not selected the check box for either in the drop down menu. To fix this, simply click the 3 horizontal bars at the top left of the extension and wait for the drop down menu to open up. From here, you will want to check off the FBA and/or FBM boxes on the left hand side. Once you check the options you would like to see, click the 3 horizontal bars to exit the dropdown menu. Check the column once more to find the FBA and/or FBM lowest price.
Profit:
This column will show whether the product you found at the source can be sold on Amazon for a profit. Hovering over any profit number will show a breakdown of how we calculated the profit shown for that particular product.
NOTE: the profit calculations shown take into account the shipping and tax filters set in the dropdown menu. Please be aware of this and always double check that you have the filters set to your preference.
Rank:
This column will show the Amazon Best Selling Rank for the ASIN given. Use this to determine how likely the item is to sell and if it is worth adding to your store.
Quick Tip: For best results, try to list items with a rank below 400,000
Buy List Window
To navigate to your buy list, click the "Buy List" text at the top right half of the extension.
The Buy List window will include all items that you selected from the 'Products' window. Add any product to your Buy List by clicking the Green "+" button found to the left of each product row. Once you add an item to your buy list, the Green "+" button will change to a Red "-" button, indicating that the item has now been added to your Buy List.
To delete an item from your buy list, simply click the Red "-" button. If done correctly, you will no longer see the item in your Buy List and the item button will change back to the Green "+" button.
Export Button
The export button is found on the bottom right hand corner of the extension. You have the ability to export the products found in either the Products view or the Buy List view.
Here's how:
1) Navigate to the Buy List and then click the export button to export only your Buy List products.
2) Navigate to the Products window and then click the export button to export all search results found in the Products window.
NOTE: The data on the tab that you are viewing at the time is the data that will be exported.
Extract Next Button
The extract next button will analyze the next page of product results without having to close out the extension.
Example: Dave is searching for coffee tables on Walmart and 25 pages of results show up. He clicks the extension when he is on page 1/25 and the extension grabs the items found on page 1/25. Now, let's say Dave wanted to analyze the next 10 pages of coffee table results? He can do this very simply by clicking extract next button. This will allow the extension to scrape the next page of results. Instead of having 1/25 pages scraped, Dave now has 2/25 pages scraped and he did this without having to exit out of the extension and manually change the page number! Dave continues to click the extract next button until he has scraped all 10 pages that he wanted. Satisfied, Dave begins to analyze the product results!
Best Practices For Extract Next:
The best way to use the extract next button is to plan ahead. Know exactly how many pages you want to analyze for the niche you are researching before you look through the first page of results.
This will speed up your sourcing process and keep you organized. Once you have completed your analysis, close out the extension, create a new search for a different item and click the extension to begin analyzing your next batch of products.
NOTE: All results (other than what you saved in your buy list) will be cleared out when starting a new search.
Example: You first scraped coffee tables but then a few minutes later decided you wanted to search for lamps. In this case, when you click the extension to scrape the lamp products, all coffee table results that were previously scraped should now be cleared out
DROPDOWN MENU: (3 horizontal bars)
At the top left hand side of the extension you will find 3 horizontal bars. When clicked, a dropdown menu will open up. This is where you will set filters and choose what information you would like to see on the results page.
SHOW
This section is where you choose what you want the extension to show on the Products results page. Simply click the check box next to the options you would like to show.
Options include the following:
- FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon)
- FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant)
- Estimate Shipping?
- Estimate Tax?
FILTERS
Set filters to narrow down your search criteria and only see the products that meet your criteria.
Filtering Options:
You can filter by...
- ROI (%)
- Sales Rank
- Net Profit
The two boxes under each filter represent the Minimum and Maximum thresholds you can set for each filter option.
Left Box = Minimum
Right Box = Maximum
NOTE: It is NOT necessary to enter both minimum and maximums into the filter settings.
Apply Button
Once you set your filters, click the 'Apply' button to turn on your filter settings.
Reset Button
If you want to set new filters, click the 'Reset' button.
Filter Examples:
(A) Filter for all items with a minimum Sales Rank of 100 and a maximum Sales Rank of 400,000. Then set the minimum Net Profit to $.50 (do not enter dollar sign into filter box). After you click 'Apply' you will only see the items that meet the criteria set in your filters.
(B) If you only want to see items that have a profit of $1, simply enter the number '1' into the minimum box (the left box) and click 'Apply'.
(C) If you have both FBA and FBM set if either of the filters meet the criteria the product will show.
